Marcus Jones
Originally studying drama at Box Hill TAFE, Marcus played Bob Franklin’s thug bouncer “Charlie” in Jimeoin’s 2005 feature film The Extra and Nicolas Cage’s heavily-tattooed “Team Blaze” mechanic in Ghost Rider (2007). Marcus started doing stand-up comedy in 2003, including gigs in Edinburgh, New York, Los Angeles and New Zealand, and over 150 gigs opening for Jimeoin on three national Australian tours, which he also Tour Managed (2003-05). Marcus currently produces and hosts HOODWINKED at festivals including the Melbourne Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Moomba Waterfest & The Famous Spiegeltent. Since 2006, the live game show has been contested by a rotating panel of A-List comedians including Glenn Robbins, Jimeoin, Akmal Saleh, Red Symons, Bob Franklin, Lawrence Mooney, Fiona O’Loughlin, The Umbilical Brothers, Jason Byrne (IRE), Charlie Pickering, Glenn Wool (CAN), Maria Bamford (US), Lehmo, Greg Fleet, Tom Gleeson, Rod Quantock, Harry Angus (The Cat Empire), Eddie Ifft (US), Dave Johns (UK), Michael Chamberlin, Cal Wilson, Daniel Townes, Claire Hooper, Pommy Johnson, Josh Thomas, Heath Franklin, Jordan Raskopoulos and Erik the Dog. Marcus pops up occasionally as guest chef on Jimeoin & Bob Franklin’s The Cooking Show, has appeared in various sketches on the Nine Network’s Comedy Inc. and hosted a weekly Sports & Mutterings segment on Melbourne radio 3AK (2002-3). Marcus also cooks 2-minute noodles in 90 seconds.
