Monty Franklin is a Melbourne based stand-up comedian performing in hundreds of shows all over the country from outback mining camps in WA, to sporting clubs and the biggest comedy clubs in all major cities. He has supported some of the countries best and is a regular MC/host at all of the major venues in Melbourne and interstate.

Monty’s numerous television performances include including Foxtel’s Stand Up Australia, and as part of The Comedy Channel’s special – The Best Of Stand Up and Comedy Gold. He featured as a finalist on Foxtel’s Comedy Gold Pitch Competition and was interviewed before the 2006 Melbourne Comedy Festival. Performing sold out shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2005, 2006 and 2007 he received wide recognition and praise for his shows Monty McFly and Eyecandy.

The winner of The Comic’s Lounge Stand-up Competition 2006 and the Melbourne winner and national finalist of The Green Faces Comedy Competition Monty has performed at hundreds of sporting clubs and corporate functions across the country such as  many cases being invited back two or three times to perform again.

In addition to his career as a stand-up comedian and MC Monty has performed the lead in short films for the Melbourne Film Festival (Number 2, 2006), as an actor, a writer and director in The Comedy Festival’s Cut the Crap (2007), and had several small roles in a number of T.V. shows, most recently appearing in channel 9’s Underbelly.

Winning first prize from hundreds of participants in the 2005 Tourism Australia Mpeg Promotions Competition for a short story as a result of his versatile humour which appeals to a wide range of audiences, Monty is one of the brightest rising starts of comedy in Australia today.
